And happy new Charlotte year! Every year I wonder about the date but I know it's some time around now - so happy birthday, girl! Hope those soggy woods are reverberating with celebration!
The first time I went treeplanting I was eleven, I would bag up and chase some highballer passing him trees, some highballer with african beads in his beard. I remember the camp, an airtight stove,a tarp, a roll of poly, and a can of nails. none of these fancy aluminum snap together pumpkin tents. I remember this girl named Snowflower those were the days, that hippie menonite patina has become lost in stainless mugs and the DuPont line of materials. Polymerized! Dacron, tyvek and fleece, yet nomadic even still, the perfect model for disaster managment.
